Bespoke Box Framing for Large and Complex Artwork
This bespoke framing project involved a large Indian ink drawing made up of six individual canvases, carefully joined together at the rear. Due to the structure of the artwork, traditional stretching and mounting methods were not suitable. Instead, a tailored approach was required to preserve the integrity of the piece while ensuring a clean and professional presentation.
A custom box frame was designed and built to house the artwork in its original form, allowing it to be suspended within the frame without compromising its structure. Particular care was taken to maintain stability and alignment, using specialist techniques including pH-neutral tape to support the artwork while preserving its condition.
